Steel Hands Brewing Receives Golden Nail Award from Columbia Chamber of Commerce

By Press Releases

Cayce’s first production brewery recognized for Commercial Beautification.

Steel Hands Brewing was awarded with the prestigious Golden Nail Award by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce at the Columbia Impact Awards Luncheon on February 20, 2020. It is bestowed upon a business or property owner for exemplary contributions to the physical character of the greater Midlands region through cosmetic or commercial means such as restoration of a façade, historic building, re-purposing of a blighted space, or renovating a creative new space during the previous calendar year.

The co-owners of Steel Hands Brewing, Scott Lambert and Darryl Frick, worked closely with the City of Cayce to develop a destination brewery by reviving an abandoned industrial site into a thriving production facility. “It is an honor to be recognized for this award from the Columbia Chamber of Commerce,” Steel Hands Brewing co-owner Scott Lambert said. “It’s amazing the positive impact breweries can have on the revitalization of a community, and we’re extremely proud and thankful for the opportunity to enhance our neighborhood and provide visitors with a truly hand forged experience.”

Breweries: Community Catalysts

By Press Releases

Breweries have been known since ancient times as community gathering spots, where business is transacted, friends catch up and neighbors meet. In the past couple of decades, though, they’ve emerged as economic drivers for tourism and community development – one look at Asheville, NC is enough to see this! We were thrilled to host EngenuitySC’s “Breweries: Community Catalysts” event in our brewhouse during Competitiveness Week 2019.  We heard from Mayor Elise Partin, Brook Bristow and the Steel Hands Brewing team on how we and other breweries around the state impact the communities around them.  Cheers!
